Weekly classes are open to beginners. Tutor guidance covers using graphite techniques leading to watercolour painting over a 16 week programme A small friendly group with an interest in plants.
Subjects covered: Graphite - Tones, Shading, Line Drawings & Negative Spaces Colour Theory & Charts, Washes & Lifting out Scaling, Tracing & Worksheets Greens & Leaf Structure Browns, Blacks & Bark Perspective, Composition, Natural Forms, Observation & Plant Names Visit to local Gardens for Observational Art Inflorescence & Formulae Yellows Whites & Greys Painting Berries, Fruit & Seeds including 'Special botany for artists'
There will also be a Visit to a Garden for observational sketching, during the daytime, with lunch included, weather permitting!
There are materials available for use in the studio for a small fee. Early booking will allow you to prepare a starter kit if you wish. There is an introduction letter with information on materials, because if you buy everything initially it can also be quite expensive. e.g. you may learn to mix certain paint colours, so you may not need to buy them.
